Arts Link: advancing the arts integration model
Arts Link: where arts integration fuels academic excellence and fosters creativity
The Philadelphia Arts in Education Partnership (PAEP), southeastern Pennsylvania’s regional resource for arts in education programming, is pleased to present the Arts Link Online Training and Resource website designed as an arts integration resource for educators, teaching artists, parents, school administrators, university pre-service students, arts administrators, and education policymakers. The development of the site marks the culmination of PAEP’s four-year U.S. Department of Education Assistance for Arts Education Development and Dissemination Program grant through the Office of Elementary and Secondary Education, (2018-2022). As one of 22 national grantees, PAEP has designed a research-based model to improve student academic achievement and prosocial behaviors while enhancing teacher effectiveness.

Teachers & Artists
The Arts Link arts integration program explores ways in which English Language Arts and mathematics concepts and skills can be taught through a creative, arts-making lens.
Components of the program include:
Professional Development for teachers and teaching artists, Arts Integrated Lessons for students, and Program and Student Evaluation including data collection and analysis and other resources. PAEP’s program model is a research-based methodology designed to improve student achievement and enhance teacher effectiveness by exploring the explicit connections between the arts and academic disciplines.
All lesson plans and professional development modules included in this website were delivered virtually through Microsoft Teams and Zoom meetings during the pandemic. A model for teaching online that aligns with brain-based instructional methodologies was developed specifically to be used by the teachers and artists.
